The introduction form

When you submit the form, your name, email address, starting point and opportunity summary, together with any optional organisation and contribution details, are sent to a server hosted by Vercel. The server validates the submission and forwards it through the configured email service to the receiving mailbox. The form shows success only after the email service accepts the message; this does not guarantee delivery to the inbox or that a response will follow.

Before you submit, the fields stay in your browser. The website does not keep a separate enquiry database or send the entries to a CRM or AI service. Providing information is voluntary, but I need enough detail to respond. Please start with a summary and agree a suitable process before sharing sensitive documents or other people’s personal information.

Enquiries and why information is used

A message may include your name, email address, organisation or background, the opportunity you describe, your intended contribution and any information you choose to include.

I use this information to read and respond to your enquiry, assess a possible fit and manage any resulting business discussion. The legal basis is my legitimate interest in communicating with people about relevant business opportunities. Where you ask for steps towards a contract with you, the legal basis is taking those steps at your request. Information may also be kept or disclosed where needed to meet a legal obligation or establish, exercise or defend legal claims.

Access and service providers

Enquiries are handled by me and, where needed, people helping me assess or respond to the opportunity. Email and IT service providers process information to deliver, store and protect that correspondence. Access and sharing are limited to what is needed for those purposes, legal obligations or the protection of legal rights.

The website forwards form submissions through an email service; it has no CRM integration or AI processing of form entries. If a discussion leads to a project or service involving additional processing, the relevant privacy information will be provided for that activity. You can ask paul@skaler.pt about the providers or recipients relevant to your enquiry.

Hosting, technical information and cookies

Vercel hosts the website. Delivering and protecting it may involve technical request information such as an IP address, requested URL, browser information and request time. The purpose is reliable delivery, troubleshooting and protection against misuse, based on legitimate interests in operating a secure website.

The website code does not set cookies or add analytics, advertising trackers or third-party embeds. Fonts and images are served with the website. Vercel may process technical information as described in its privacy notice and data processing addendum; its service providers and infrastructure may be involved in delivery and security.

Processing outside the European Economic Area

Vercel Inc. is based in the United States and its infrastructure and service providers may process technical information outside the European Economic Area. Vercel describes its transfer safeguards in its privacy notice and data processing addendum, including the EU-U.S. Data Privacy Framework and Standard Contractual Clauses where applicable.

Email routing and storage also depend on the providers used by you and the receiving mailbox. For information about the providers, processing locations or applicable safeguards for correspondence with me, contact paul@skaler.pt.

How long information is kept

The website does not keep a separate enquiry database. Form entries are processed to deliver the message to the receiving email service. I retain enquiry correspondence only while it is needed to respond, assess the opportunity and manage an active business discussion. Information is deleted when it is no longer needed, unless a legal obligation or the establishment, exercise or defence of legal claims requires continued retention.

If a discussion becomes a business relationship, relevant records are retained for that relationship and any applicable legal requirements. Technical information is retained for the hosting and security purposes described above under the provider’s applicable retention arrangements. You can request deletion or ask about the retention of a particular record at paul@skaler.pt.

Your rights

Subject to the applicable conditions, you can request access, correction, erasure or restriction of your information, and portability where it applies. You can object to processing based on legitimate interests. If processing relies on consent, you can withdraw it without affecting the lawfulness of earlier processing.

Send requests to paul@skaler.pt. I may need information to verify your identity. You can also complain to a competent data protection authority, including Portugal’s Comissão Nacional de Proteção de Dados (CNPD).

Automated decisions and changes

This website does not profile visitors or make solely automated decisions with legal or similarly significant effects. Sending an introduction does not assess or accept an opportunity.
